KYOCERA Releases New Small Negative Tools for Automatic Lathe

Kyoto/ Neuss − The Japanese high tech company Kyocera, one of the leading suppliers of cutting tools for metal working, has introduced new Small Negative Tools for automatic lathe: PR 1025, suitable for precision processing of carbon and alloy steels, and PR 1005 for free cutting steels. Due to new material both products realize an extended life span to nearly twice that of conventional products.

Kyocera Mita Europe obtains ISO 14001 certification


Kyocera Mita Europe today announced that all of its own sales subsidiaries in Europe and South Africa have acquired ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for Environmental Management Systems. It enables organisations to develop and implement its policy and objectives, ensure compliance with environmental legislations and implement a programme of continuous improvement. In obtaining certification to ISO 14001, Kyocera Mita’s European operation can show that its working practices and processes have been verified by third-party auditing.



KYOCERA Donates Solar Power Generating Systems to Primary Schools in Tanzania

Kyoto/Neuss – By the year 2012, Kyocera Corporation (NYSE: KYO) will have donated solar power generating systems to produce electricity for twenty primary schools in Tanzania. The company has for years been dedicated to electrification and improving educational infrastructure in rural areas in developing countries. This project takes that initiative a step further. At an official celebration, Kyocera's founder and Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Kazuo Inamori, presented the certificate of donation to His Excellency Mr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Chairman of the African Union.

New transflective displays go into series production

Kyoto/Neuss – Kyocera is soon to offer two 5.7" LC-Displays that feature transflective technology. These displays proportionally reflect most of the ambient light, using it as a light source. This saves energy and makes possible industrial use of the displays in direct sunlight. The brilliant colours and outstanding contrast usual for Kyocera LCDs make these two screens truly stand out.

The Service Trophy aims to identify and reward the individual service technicians across Europe with product knowledge and trouble-shooting skills that are second to none. Over six months, 642 service technicians from several countries competed through a three-stage contest, with the winners beating rivals in tests of knowledge and of practical problem solving exercises, including a final that pitted their skills against carefully hidden and little-known bugs.

Kyocera Achieves to Reduce Solar Cell Thickness

KYOTO/Neuss – Kyocera is combating the rapid expansion of demands for silicon in the solar industry with the mass production of a new solar cell of 180 micrometres in thickness using the latest advances in silicon ingot slicing and wafer coating. The new achievement in the company's manufacturing process offers higher efficiency in its consumption of multicrystalline silicon, the essential raw material used to make photovoltaic solar cells and modules.
